Botox Treatments Jacksonville
Botulinum Toxin (Botox) injections temporarily reduces or eliminates facial fine lines and wrinkles by blocking the nerve signals to the muscle in which it was injected. This will keep the muscle from contracting and the end result diminishes unwanted facial wrinkles. The most commonly treated areas are frown lines, forehead creases, crow’s feet near the eyes as well as thick bands in the neck, thick jaw muscles, lip lines and gummy smiles.
Dr. Hardy will select the appropriate injection sites based on the area of aged skin to be treated. Botulinum toxin is FDA approved and commonly known as Botox®
Botulinum toxin can be used to:
- Smooth crow’s feet, forehead furrows, frown lines, lip lines and bunny lines
- Diminish neck bands
- Relaxes TMJ surrounding muscles
- Improve the appearance of skin dimpling of the chin
- Lift the corners of the mouth
- Soften a square jawline
- Correct a gummy smile
General Botox Treatment Procedure
Dr. Hardy will identify wrinkled areas of the face where the skin furrows are causing the patient’s face to have an aged appearance. By injecting small amounts of Botox® just below the skin, the wrinkle is relaxed and the facial skin begins to smooth out. Although Botox® is not a permanent solution, the cosmetic effects produced by the underlying relaxed facial muscles will typically last between three to six months
Recovery from Botox Treatments
After most Botox treatments in Jacksonville, the patient can immediately return to their normal activities with a few common-sense restrictions. Following the post-procedure guidelines you’re given, can dramatically reduce the length and intensity of your recovery period. Naturally, you should avoid engaging in heavy physical exercise, sweating unnecessarily, applying cosmetics, or laying down flat for the first 4 hours after the injections. It is also advisable to avoid rubbing or massaging any of the areas of the face where the Botox® was injected for at least 24 hours after the non-surgical cosmetic facial procedure.
